We are currently seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our expanding company. The ideal candidate will possess mid to senior level Network engineering and security experience and have at least 8 years of hands-on experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing both the physical and wireless networks, including those for computer communications and telecommunications
  • Maintaining network performance
  • Managing the electronic equipment that activates any network pieces
  • Troubleshooting network problems
  • Researching and integrating new technologies into the network lifecycle
  • Interfacing with network administrators to manage or assist problems
  • Work with other administrative staff on network and security initiatives and issues
  • Perform Asset management, inventory tracking, Antivirus/Malware detection, wireless network monitoring
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Perform a combination of network and security tasks such as implementing security controls per NIST standards, using network monitoring tools
  • Responsible for daily operations, maintenance and security compliance of network
  • Under general direction, installs and configures new workstation computer systems and associated hardware and software components that make up established baselines
  • Use of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools such as AlienVault OSSIM to log and troubleshoot issues
  • Implementing network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware per security policy
  • Respond, isolate, and resolve network troubles. Monitor alarms and alerts to identify network elements causing network degradation or failure
  • Maintaining logs and records associated with reported problems or situations to build knowledge for future similar incidents
  • Monitoring security posture of the network, and report suspected violations to designated authority
  • Analyzing network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput) and recommends procurement, removals, and modifications to network components
  • Maintaining knowledge base and stay abreast of developments in the latest network hardware/software technologies

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience
  • 3+ years as a network engineer and 5+ years as a network administrator
  • Superior fault analysis, strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, Wireless, MPLS and general network theory required.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, take initiative and lead maintaining the overall environment.
  • Good understanding of tools that secure the infrastructure and systems  such as SEIM, vulnerability scanning and Antivirus/Malware tools.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, adhere to deadlines, ability to both work independently and as a team.
  • Experience working with Carbon Black or CrowdStrike Falcon.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Network and security certifications are a plus (CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, etc.)
  • Experience in VPN technology and networking in AWS Cloud 
  • Experience working with AlienVault SIEM tool for inventory management, vulnerability scanning, Antivirus/Malware detection, etc.

Qualifications ( Education/Experience)

 

Associates degree or higher, or equivalent eight years of experience.
