    The Human Resources Generalist assists with developing, coordinating, and implementing services, policies, and programs; assists and advises hiring managers and other stakeholders about HR issues; reports to the HR Director of an IT government contracting firm that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance, located in Herndon, VA.  Self-starter, extremely organized and detail oriented. Individual with HR experience in a government contracting environment is required.

    • Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services, including employment processing, health benefits (open enrollment), training and development, records management, organizational culture, compensation, retention, AA/EEO compliance; completing personnel transactions, including some administrative issues.
    • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization staff members; assists in the development and implementation of personnel  policies and procedures; develops, prepares and maintains policies and procedures.
    • Assists with the development and administration of programs and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
    • Assists with back up for new-employee orientations; developing compensation structure, career-pathing and training program.
    • Provides assistance with immigration filings, i.e., H1b transfers, Green Card processing, etc.
    • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
    • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.


    Required Education ,Experience and Skills :

    • A bachelor's degree and two to five years of HR experience in a corporate setting; PHR Certification highly desirable
    • Proficiency with Google Applications and Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently, self-starter, attention to detail
    • Previous work experience in a government contracting firm as it relates to HR preferred, along with direct experience with ADP Workforce Now Platform, iCIMS Hiring Platform/ATS, and Affirmative Action Program regs

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position and telework is not an option. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  

    Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. No travel is expected for this position.  This is not a telework position – Herndon Office Location.
