    This position supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) SSD program. The Karsun team is responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement (DM&E) and operation of multiple FAA Systems. All employees must be able to pass a Federal Suitability Check for a position of public trust. The FAA SSD program supports the operations of multiple business applications, as well as development of new applications across different technologies. The Karsun software development team is responsible for the software design and implementation of web applications supporting multiple Business Lines within FAA. Successful candidates are modern web development specialists experienced in translating business requirements into software architecture.  In addition to strong software development skills, ideal candidates have demonstrated experience in working on an Agile Scrum team.       

    Responsibilities

    • An ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering and maintaining business/ system requirements for mid to large enterprise applications.
    • Work closely with the product owners, end-users, and other stakeholders to understand the product vision / roadmap, translate that into the product backlog
    • Lead, discover, document and maintain a set of comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria in collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
    • Conduct product backlog grooming sessions with the product owner and implementation team
    • Support implementation team during the sprint execution with any requirements and validation support
    • Conduct system demos to a large audience, including POs and business stakeholders
    • Produce professional, client-ready materials in a fast paced environment for presentation to key project stakeholders
    • Provide a range of support functions, including meeting coordination, action item tracking etc.

     Required Skills:

    • Experience in gathering business requirements for large enterprise applications in the Federal government sector
    • Work with key client stakeholders to define and document business processes and system requirements, including functional and non-functional system requirements
    • Experience with application development methodologies such as Agile including writing user stories/epics and acceptance criteria using Gherkin scripts
    • Provide system demonstrations to clients throughout the entire project life-cycle
    • Conduct various agile ceremonies like product backlog grooming sessions with the product owner and implementation team
    • Create and manage a backlog of clearly defined and prioritized user stories
    • Support implementation team during the sprint execution with any requirements support
    • Support client User Acceptance Testing (UAT), provide client testers with functional support, review and validate issues, and work with development team to address valid issues
    • Ability to work independently, take ownership of and complete relatively complex tasks, effectively using available resources, as needed, with minimal guidance
    • Experience with Atlassian products such as Jira, Confluence and other agile tools

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience in Federal Projects.

    Qualifications

    • Requires a Bachelors Degree in Information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT Management, or other IT degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
    • Engineering, math, and/or science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees.
    • The ability to successfully obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust Background Clearance
